Free Bill For Low-Cost Health Insurance
Posted on March 23rd, 2009 More Than 14 DaysOklahoma House approved with thundering majority: 97-2 the bill to empower the state’s insurance commissioner to direct the health insurance companies propose nominal cost and condition free coverage to dwellers who are below 40 years of age. Bill writer state Rep. Doug Cox (R) highlighted that 60 % of 6000000 uninsured candidates in Oklahoma are in the age category 18-40 and thus the bill has been passed to give them coverage at reasonable expense. The state presently retracts from insurance companies deeds on 36 procedures, which include young ones’ immunization and tests of prostrate cancer, as it leads to future high cost contributions.
Some legal experts argued the basic facts and thought it foolish to announce low-cost, mandate-free accidental insurance policies to the above age group as it would bear on the senior citizens who are meant to continue with the directives.
House Economic Development and Financial Services Committee passed the blue print to be debated and scrutinized in the House and get a subsequent vote as legislators look to carve out a nationally applicable state policy to assist little employers give health insurance to their employees and also nurture insurers to form low-cost plans.
Health Care Reform Task Force met last year and found out means to insure 600,000 uninsured Oklahomans resulting in Steele’s bill. Further, about 800,000 low earning and senior state citizens are registered for state Medicaid.
Steele’s bill offers latest methods to encourage Insure Oklahoma program first tabled by Democratic Gov. Brad Henry in 2004.
These methods would aim mainly at steering both employer-sponsored insurance and individual insurance plans to ensure extra low-cost benefits like highly lessened policies that allow health savings accounts.
Moreover, it would entail benefits for precautionary plans and Insure Oklahoma would entertain more clients, cutting out negligible people at enrollment time.
It would also enhance businesses that let its workers buy pretax health insurance policies with $ 500 tax credits. This may be provisionary though and may be sidelined as the state is under a $15.8 million revenue weight.
Legislators remarked they wish that the insurers provide good benefit package with preventive policies and accidental cover and shrug off health directives to allow more low-cost options to uninsured state residents.
Insurance Commissioner Kim Holland has affirmed that 70 % of people between ages 19-34 in Oklahoma live uninsured.

My uncle was an uneducated man who wanted to provide for his family. He worked dayshift at an auto factory, evenings in a warehouse and weekends as a painter. We have an entitlement society that needs to get off of their asses and get second jobs to buy health insurance, pay mortgages, buy food, etc. Even if they work at Burger King or Taco Bell for an extra 20 hours/week they would be contributing to their family. Instead everyone wants to steal more money from taxpayers that already pay almost half their salaries in Federal, State, Social Security, Medicare, Sales and Property Taxes. Its crazy- go to work and develop some self respect.
